Chiropractic
The term Chiropractor has derived from two Greek words meaning treatment by hand or manipulation. Chiropractic treatment specializes in mechanical disorders of joints, particularly those of the spine, and their effect on the muscular and nervous system of the body.
Visiting a Chiropractor
On the first visit the Chiropractor will take a thorough case history and carry out a full neurological and orthopaedic examination. The Chiropractor then carries out a detailed analysis of how individual bones, joints and muscles move to identify the specific problem area.
Treatment consists of gently releasing the restricted joints with specific manipulations by hand, known as adjustment. Quick comfortable adjustments are used appropriate to the patient’s individual requirements in order to restore the proper function and mobility to the joints.
